My favorite line from the third Hobbit movie, spoken by Thorin,
“There is more in you of good than you know, child of the kindly West. Some courage and some wisdom, blended in measure. If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.”

My introduction to JRR Tolkein’s writing was in sixth grade. Our science teacher read The Hobbit aloud at the end of class each day any time there were a few minutes left before the bell rang. His copy was a scruffy paperback. He read The Hobbit to all his classes and by the end of the school year, everyone had heard the entire book. Any reference to JRR Tolkein always makes me think of my sixth grade science teacher! 😉
Handsome Husband and I recently watched the last Hobbit Movie. We’ve seen all of them. My favorite character has to be the wizard with bunnies pulling his sled. He has a bird nest under his hat and bird poop on his head. He is so kind and sweet to all the animals.
