I stumbled across this adorable FREE PRINTABLE banner for a Valentine’s Day, but my brain immediately went a different direction. Does anyone else have a directionally challenged brain?

While I truly love the color scheme, let’s face it. My home is an old rock farmhouse. So, I wanted to “antique” these lovely letters a bit. Out came this textured paper with smudges and swirls in lavender and pink. I like the added depth in colors along with a more vintage feel.
Instead of cutting the letters as pennants, they were snipped into squares.
Now for the next step, you could actually use math skills (if you have them, but I don’t) and get everything perfectly aligned. 😉 I just made sure they were a half inch from the edge and sort of just guessed at the rest of it.
A simple glue stick holds everything in place. The 12 x 12 piece of cardstock has been in my scrap booking stash for AGES along with the 12 x 12 black frame.
This was such a fun little project! I think I will use large buttons and teach the kiddos how to play tic tac toe with it!
